How to use the nonogram maker
Pick a difficulty and a fresh nonogram appears instantly — every sheet is different, and no two sheets on a page repeat the same puzzle.
- How it works: the numbers at the start of each row and column list the runs of filled squares in that line, in order. A clue of “2 1” means a block of 2 filled squares, then at least one empty square, then a block of 1.
- Solve on screen: click a square to fill it black, right-click or Shift+click to mark a square × (definitely empty). Use the Fill / Mark × buttons for touch screens, and the arrow keys to move around.
- Strategy: start with rows or columns whose clue numbers add up to nearly the full length — those force most of their squares. A clue of “8” on a 10-wide row fills 6 of its 10 squares in every solution.
- Printing: “Print / PDF” prints the blank puzzle — up to 2 per page. “Print Answers” prints the completed grid.
The rules of nonograms
- Each row and column has a list of clue numbers, read from the edge toward the grid.
- Each clue number is the length of one block of filled squares in that line.
- Blocks are separated by at least one empty square, and the clues appear in order.
- Every puzzle has exactly one solution, reachable by logic alone.
